近日俗务缠身，读书甚少，深感痛心。晚上偶翻约翰。多恩（John Donne）和泰戈尔（Rabindranath Tagore）之书，有感，遂成此文。

惭愧之余，重读了数页泰戈尔《飞鸟集》，与朋友分享些许警言佳句。

1.  By plucking her petals you do not gather the beauty of the flower.
采摘了她的花瓣，你就不会采集到花的美。

2.  If you shed tears when you miss the sun, you also miss the stars.
如果你因错过太阳而流泪，那麼你也将错过群星。

3.  The water in a vessel is sparkling;
the water in the sea is dark.
The small truth has words that are clear; the great truth has great silence.

 勺子里的水闪光，海水去世深暗的。
 渺小的真理可以明言，
 伟大的真理只有伟大的沉默。

4.  I cannot choose the best. The best chooses me.
我不能选择那最好的，是那最好的选择了我。

5.  We read the world wrong and say that it deceives us.
我们看错了世界，却说世界欺骗了我们。

6.  Let life be beautiful like summer flowers and death like autumn leaves.
使生如夏日花朵之绚烂、死如秋天树叶之静美。

7.  Let this be my last word, that I trust in thy love.
我相信你的爱」让这句话作为我最后的话。

8.  The little flower lies in the dust. It sought the path of the butterfly.
小花睡在尘土里，它寻求蝴蝶走的路。

9.  Life has become richer by the love that has been lost.
生命因为失去爱情而更丰盛
